TERMS & CONDITIONS

Definitions:

In these Terms and Conditions 'CECSSB' means City Explorer Card Services Sdn Bhd, while 'City Explorer Card' is defined as the consumer rewards membership programme run by CECSSB. The 'Loyalty Programme' hereby refers to the City Explorer Loyalty (CEL) Card Membership Programme or any other designated card. 'Member' is defined as both Principal and Supplementary Members unless otherwise specified.. 'Account' is defined as Principal Member's Points record, including those of the Supplementary Members. 'Gifts' are defined as the goods and/or services offered to Members in exchange for sufficient amount of Points. 'Membership' means those arrangements by which a Member agrees to participate in the Loyalty Programme and receives Points by purchasing qualifying goods and services from Participating Companies (herein refers to 'Merchants') and so qualifies for Gifts under these Terms and Conditions. Reference to 'Participating Merchants' are to those companies (and other persons) who supply qualifying goods and services in respect of which Points will be credited under the Programme. 'Merchants' are defined as Participating Companies, Suppliers, service suppliers, contractors, vendors, agencies, agents or persons, which are appointed by CECSSB for purposes of managing various aspects of the City Explorer Loyalty Programme.


Membership:

Membership for CEL card is free of charge. Only individuals above 18 years can be Member. Any individual who wishes to become a Member must agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as varied from time to time. Each Member will be issued with a Membership Card. The Principal Member will be responsible for the actions of such Supplementary Members. By using or permitting a Supplementary Member to be under the Principal Member's Account, the Principal and Supplementary Member will each be taken to have affirmed his or her agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as varied from time to time.


Principal Members and Supplementary Members will provide information on a registration form (where information such as Full name, NRIC number, address, contact numbers, occupation, family particulars, customer preferences, as well as other similar personal information has been requested) or through other communication with CECSSB, and when a Member uses the Card or give details to collect or redeem Points, the Participating Merchant will record in its database the details of the transaction on which those Points are collected or redeemed. In certain instances, either the Participating Merchant or their customers may send CECSSB, their information in order to register as Member on the City Explorer Loyalty Card Programme. Additionally, information about the Member can be obtained through various applications including our website (www.cityexplorercard.com.my) or by directly contacting our Customer Service (06-761 8792) or by any other means that CECSSB may introduce from time to time. In the instance where a Member was issued his/her City Explorer Loyalty Card, CECSSB will consider that the Member is agreeable to its Terms & Conditions, upon the first swipe or upon registration with the Participating Merchant.


CECSSB may reject an application for Membership and reserves the right not to disclose the reasons for such refusal. A Membership Card will be provided for free. CECSSB may charge RM20.00 for a replacement Card. A Member must notify CECSSB immediately of any change of address or of a lost or stolen Membership Card. A Supplementary Member cannot make any changes to the Principal Member's details in the CEL Account.


CECSSB may terminate a Membership of CELC without notice and for any reason, including if the Member fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions:-

  1. Supplies any misleading information or makes any misrepresentations to CECSSB or to any Participating Merchant ; or
  2. Abuses any privilege accorded to the Member under the Loyalty Programme; or
  3. Engages in any fraudulent activities under the Loyalty Programme; or
  4. Is deceased or is declared a bankrupt or
  5. Displays inappropriate behaviour against any member of CECSSB staff


Termination of Membership will result in forfeiture of remaining Points in the Member's Account. A Principal Member may at any time terminate his or her Membership or cancel a Supplementary Card by giving notice to CECSSB. A Supplementary Member is automatically terminated if the Principal Member's account is closed.


CECSSB reserves the right to send Points Summary Statement, catalogues or other promotional literature to a Member at its own discretion.


Any tax arising from a Member's participation in the Loyalty Programme is the responsibility of the Member.


Collection of Points:

Points will be recorded in a Member's Account, after purchases made by the Member of qualifying goods or services from a Participating Merchant(s). Points may also be recorded in a Member's Account in relation to promotional and incentive programs. CECSSB and the Participating Merchant(s) will determine from time to time which goods or services are qualifying goods and services and the number of Points that will be recorded in a Member's Account for such purchases. CECSSB and Participating Merchant(s) may from time to time offer exclusive promotions for specified groups of Members. Changes in Participating Merchant(s), the Points issuance rate and the offers, may be made without prior notification to Members


The following terms apply for Members' Points entitlement:-

  1. By presenting the relevant Membership Card and notifying the Participating Merchant before the transaction in respect of a qualifying goods or services is concluded; or
  2. If the purchase is by telephone or mail order, by quoting the Membership number; or
  3. The Member may be introduced to other methods by which the Member may be able to receive Points from the Participating Merchant and/or CECSSB, which will be announced in their promotional literature from time to time.
  4. Points cannot be redeemed until credited to the CEL Account of the Member. Points will be recorded in the Member's Account only after the Participating Merchant(s) has notified CECSSB of the details of the relevant transaction. These Points may need to be recorded in the Member's Account on a monthly or any other pre-determined interval depending on the frequency of notification from the respective Participating Merchant(s).
  5. A Participating Merchant may operate a no refund policy for their qualifying goods or services. A Member who has collected Points for such qualifying goods or services from Participating Merchant(s) may not be eligible for any refund for the relevant transaction.


It is the responsibility of the Principal Member to check out his/her opening Points balance, Points recorded and deducted during the period and the closing Points balance in the website www.cityexplorercard.com.my . However, CECSSB reserves the right to forfeit or cease the Member's points accumulated for the following reasons:-

  1. When a Member DOES NOT utilize his/her Points for a period of 24 months, which is the maximum period set by CECSSB at its own discretion from time to time; or


Disputes arising over the Points Summary Statement must be notified to CECSSB within one month from the date of the relevant Statement. Members are requested to provide supporting documents wherever applicable to assist CECSSB settle the dispute. The Statement will otherwise be taken to be correct and binding on the Member. CECSSB's decision on any such dispute is final and binding.


CECSSB will not record Points given by any company and entertain any dispute arising from a Participating Merchant after they have ceased to be a Participating Merchant in the CEL Programme.


Redeeming Gifts:


Normal Redemptions

Only the Principal Member with sufficient Points is eligible for redemption, and he/she may do so using the various redemption methods implemented by CECSSB. Redemption orders once accepted by CECSSB cannot be revoked, cancelled, returned or exchanged, and the affected Points will not be reinstated. If redemption channels are specified for a Gift item, CECSSB reserves the right to decline redemptions made through any other channels without any notification. CECSSB gives no representation or warranty with respect to any products and/or services featured in the Gifts Catalogue or other channels of redemption. In particular, CECSSB gives no warranty with respect to the quality of the Gifts or their suitability for any purpose. However, Members may liaise directly with the Supplier according to the warranty awarded.


CECSSB does not accept liability whatsoever (including negligence) with respect to the Gifts supplied or in connection with any Supplier's refusal to accept certificates/vouchers issued by CECSSB for the purpose of redeeming Gifts. Any disputes' arising from this is solely between the Members and Suppliers.


CEXpress Redemption

'CEXpress' is a redemption facility using a combination of CEL Points and Cash at values fixed as published by CECSSB or its Merchants. 'CEXpress' allows the redemption of Gifts by utilizing specified values of CEL Points and paying the specified cash portion via money order, postal order, bank draft, cheque or any other payment modes, which may be introduced by CECSSB from time to time.


For payment via cheque, the 'CEXpress' redemption will only be processed upon cheque clearance. All cheques must be crossed and made payable to City Explorer Card Services Sdn Bhd'. Only cheques from banks incorporated in Malaysia are accepted. Members are advised to state the Principal Member's CEL Card number, name, redemption reference (when applicable) and contact number on the reverse side of the money/postal order, bank draft and cheque. Post-dated cheques and alterations are not permitted. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.


Refunds for unfulfilled redemptions will be made directly to the Principal Member in the manner to be determined solely by CECSSB on a case to case basis.


On-the-Spot Redemption

Principal Members are required to be present during the redemption transaction and must produce their CEL Card and NRIC to facilitate the transaction and for verification purposes. Members are advised to examine the Gifts upon redemption. On-The-Spot Gifts redeemed through 'CEXpress' are subjected to the terms and conditions of the respective Suppliers and Member's are advised to read and understand the same. Only modes of payment agreeable to the Suppliers are accepted. CECSSB shall not be responsible for the condition of the Gifts once redeemed. Members should notify the Suppliers and refer to the warranty for any disputes arising.


Other Redemption Channels

CECSSB may introduce other methods of redemption, which will be announced in their promotional literature from time to time.


Delivery of Gifts:

CECSSB will endeavor to deliver the redeemed Gifts to Members within 1 to 2 weeks upon receiving the redemption request from Member (for payment by cheque, Gifts will be delivered upon cheque clearance). Gifts will be posted or delivered (at CECSSB's discretion), to the current address of the Member shown in CECSSB's record or any other address as authorized by the Principal Member. CECSSB will not deliver to PO Box addresses and addresses outside Malaysia. Member/recipient of Gift items is obliged to present ID documentation to the delivery staff, failing which the delivery staff has the right to refuse delivery and will return the Gift item to CECSSB as unclaimed. Delivery of Gifts will be made to the address as specified by the Member, or to the occupants at the delivery address, and where such address is an office, to any office staff. Such acknowledgment shall be deemed to be the acknowledgment of the Member.


Members are advised to examine all pick-ups or delivered Gifts upon receipt. If a Member finds the Gift item faulty/damaged, he/she is requested to contact CECSSB's Member Services Centre within 3 days from receipt date. Any disputes after 3 days will not be entertained and Members will be required to liaise directly with the respective Suppliers according to the warranty information.


All Gifts delivered do not include installation cost - any installation cost incurred will be borne by Members. Members further agree to pay the cost of delivery to CECSSB's appointed bank prior to the delivery of the Gifts. CECSSB does not generally impose separate delivery or courier charges but may impose appropriate delivery charges for the following reasons:-


  1. Outside 150km from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan eg: Klang Valley, Seremban & Malacca
  2. Re-delivery of Gifts that have been returned as a result of being unclaimed; or
  3. Re-delivery of Gifts that have been returned under the following circumstances i.e. incomplete address, PO Box addresses, non-Malaysian addresses, person has shifted, no such person or for any other failed delivery reasons; or


All Gifts unclaimed after 2 months from the redemption date will be deemed as forfeited. Points used will not be reinstated. It is the Principal Member's responsibility to contact CECSSB if the Gift item has not been received after 1 month from request.


All Gifts are subject to availability. Once redeemed, these Gifts cannot be revoked, cancelled, returned or exchanged, and Points will not be reinstated. CECSSB reserves the right to adjust the Points required for redemption of Gifts, as well as replacing any Gifts with other item of approximate equivalent value without prior notice. CECSSB reserves the right to refuse the redemption of any Gifts or recall the redeemed item if CECSSB has any reason to suspect the Points were fraudulently accumulated by the Member or wrongly recorded.


All Gifts are subject to such Terms and Conditions as are mentioned in the current Gifts schedule or in any other Terms and Conditions relating to the Gift, as determined by the Suppliers. It is the Member's responsibility to satisfy any Terms and Conditions imposed by an airline or other Suppliers including advance booking requirements and any restrictions and/or fees payable in respect of the cancellation or alteration of tickets.


Reservation of Gifts:

Principal Members are allowed to reserve a Gift, which is temporarily out of stock, through the approved channels offered by CECSSB. Once stock is available, the reservation will be processed as redemption subject to the Terms and Conditions of redemption, without prior notification to the Member. However any reservation that is not fulfilled after 1 month will be deemed as cancelled. Any reservation made by the Member is subject to Point expiry. Reservations may not be applicable for certain redemption promotions, example 'Bonus Points' promotion.


Deduction of Points:

The number of Points published for a Gift claimed by a Member will be deducted from the Points balance of the CEL Member's Account, with the oldest Points being deducted first. Any Points, which are not used by a Member to claim a Gift within 24 months after the end of the month in which the Points were recorded, will automatically expire and be deducted from the Points balance in a Member's Account.


CECSSB may also deduct the Points balance in a CEL Member's Account, given the following circumstances:-

  1. Any Points suspected to be fraudulently recorded; or
  2. Any Points recorded in error; or
  3. Any Points relating to a transaction which is cancelled; or

CECSSB reserves the right to deduct any such Points as stated above without notifying the Member.


Policy on Personal Data:

CECSSB and it's Merchants respect the privacy of its Members. This is CECSSB's policy on personal information collected through the Programme. It is part of the CEL Membership Terms & Conditions and Principal Members are responsible for ensuring that Supplementary Members, who are in their Accounts, are aware of these Terms & Conditions.


Any of this information may be used by, and shared between CECSSB and its Business Partners where necessary to operate the Programme in order to provide Members with services relating to the Programme, to communicate with Members, to status Members, to promote offers to Members, to fulfill Members' requests including redemption orders, and for identification purposes. It is optional for a Member to provide the above information; however, if a Member chooses not to do so, CECSSB may not be able to fulfill the services mentioned above. From time to time, CECSSB may ask for additional information, to help improve its services to Members, to create more opportunities for Members to enjoy the Programme, to follow up with Members for feedback or to help prevent abuse of the Programme. Also, CECSSB may automatically collect other information about Members indirectly through its database such as customer profile and consumer behavior. Any customer information (including Members name and contact details) and consumer behavior but excluding information that relate to specific goods or services that a Member buys, may be used by CECSSB to analyze Members' activity on the Programme. CECSSB may also use that information, and share it with the Business Partners in order to facilitate various services to the Members, to extend Member benefits and special offers, and for marketing purposes including planning, product development, telemarketing promotions, research and other carefully screened marketing programmes or activities, which CECSSB and/or the Business Partners believe are likely to interest Members. Information regarding the specific goods or services a Member buys from a particular Participating Merchant will not be passed to CECSSB or any other CECSSB's Business Partners except where required to operate the Programme. A Participating Merchant with whom a Member uses his or her Card or take up an offer, may use information about the specific goods or services which the Member registers interest or purchases, to market to the Member or to update a database on which the Member already appears and will be entitled to do this even if the Member leaves the Programme. Members can refer to participant list to view the list of Participating Merchants (which for these purposes include all companies in the same legal group).


CECSSB allows Supplementary Members to collect Points on a Principal Member's Account and will pool all information regarding that Account (including that transferred from other programmes). The Principal Member is primarily responsible for an Account and so will have access to information on all transactions on the Account (including those by Supplementary Members) whilst Supplementary Members will only be able to check the total balance on the Account and details of Points collected by them. Offers and marketing materials may be sent to Principal Members and/or Supplementary Members.


Members shall ensure that all personal detail provided to CECSSB is accurate at the point of submission and that CECSSB is kept abreast and updated of any change in their personal details. If for any reason a Member believes that his or her personal information lodged with CECSSB is inaccurate or if a Member would like to amend and reconfirm his or her personal information, they can contact CECSSB via the following channels - e-mail to enquiry@cityexplorercard.com.my, or call the Member Services Center at 06-761 8792, or fax to 06-764 3784, or write to City Explorer Card Services Sdn. Bhd. No. 16, Lorong Permata 4/1, Taman Permata, 70200 Seremban, N.S.D.K., Malaysia. Members shall ensure that CECSSB is kept abreast and updated of any change in their mailing address.


Members are also requested to take special care to keep their User & Password confidential and not disclose it to anyone else. CECSSB is not responsible for any abuse of the Member's User & Password. Should a Member believe that an unauthorized person has become aware of their User & Password, the Member is obliged to contact CECSSB immediately.


For as long as a Member remains in the Programme and maintains his/her Membership with CECSSB, their information will remain with CECSSB. CECSSB will take all practicable steps to ensure the security of the data at all times from any unauthorized access. CECSSB will endeavor not to disclose any personally identifiable information to any organization unless necessary to operate the Programme and/or if CECSSB is legally required to do so by law. Members will be treated as having given permission for disclosures referred to in this policy.


MERCHANT - General Terms and Conditions Governing the Use of CEL Program

  1. The CEL Card membership is a Loyalty Card Program operated by City Explorer Card Services Sdn. Bhd. (the "Company").
  2. The CEL Card membership registered under your company entitles you to be part of CELC participating merchants subject to the terms and conditions as stipulated in Part 2 below; and (ii) City Explorer Loyalty Points, known as CEL Points will be rewarded to all your customers at all participating merchants and they can redeem their accumulated CEL Points for goods and services from the Company subject to the terms and conditions as stipulated, when they patronize at the respective participating merchants.
  3. In consideration of the services and benefits provided by the Company (hereinafter referred to as "CEL Benefits"), unless sponsored or paid by any person on your behalf or by any means as may be acceptable to by the Company, the Company reserves the right to impose a participation fee of an amount as may be determined by the Company from time to time to you for the enjoyment of your participation in CEL Card Privilege membership.
  4. The Company reserves the right to cancel your CEL participation or any of the CEL Benefits in the occurrence of any of the following events:
    1. If you failed to reward any CEL Points for a 12-month period or due to non-payment of the Participation Fee.
    2. If you fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions governing stated by The Company
    3. If you abuse any of the CEL Benefits.
  5. In the event of cancellation of your participation if the CEL Card membership program, you shall not be entitled to make any claim or ask for refund of the Initial Fee or any cost already paid to The Company or any CEL Points already deducted by the Company for the use of your CEL membership program prior to such cancellation and you shall no longer be entitled to enjoy any or all of the CEL Benefits, and your accumulated and unredeemed CEL Points may, at the sole discretion of the Company, be nullified and voided.
  6. You agree to the Company recording in its computer system your personal details as may be supplied by you from time to time or by any person sponsoring your CEL Card membership program or as may be obtained by the Company from any commercially available source, and you further agree that the Company shall be entitled to use, for its benefits and/or the benefits of any party which it has a business relationship with, in any manner and for any commercial purpose as it deems proper and from time to time during and after the termination of your CEL Card membership program, your personal details and/or any transactional data arising from your participating merchants and/or CEL Points participating merchants and/or from any redemption activities of your accumulated CEL Points from any channel that may be provided by the Company.
  7. Your enjoyment of any of the CEL Benefits under the CEL Card membership is expressly conditional upon your compliance with all the terms and conditions governing the CEL Card membership herein contained.
  8. The Company reserves the rights to amend any of the terms and conditions contained herein by giving you a notice no less than fourteen (14) days prior to any amendment and such notice shall be deemed to have been given by the Company by:
    1. Placing such notice in a nationally circulated newspaper, or
    2. Publishing such notice in its official web-site, or
    3. Mailing such notice by ordinary mail to your address as recorded in the Company's computer at the time of mailing such notice, or
    4. Sending such notice via short messaging service (or commonly known as SMS).
  9. The participating merchants duly agree to be responsible to maintain and take reasonable care to any hardware, equipment or software, provided by the Company that could possibly malfunction due to negligence or theft or any unforeseen circumstances. Any damages or malfunctions to any hardware, equipment or software will be evaluated on a case-to-case basis and the cost of replacement or repair shall be agreed by both parties at the discretion of the Company.
  10. The Company will not be held liable for any failure to increase the sale performance of any of the participating merchants which is caused by a reason or circumstance beyond the Company's control, including, without limitation, acts or omissions on your part, non-performance by any third party, and failure or malfunction of computer or telecommunications hardware, equipment or software, provided that the Company could not have foreseen the specific reason or circumstance which caused the delay or failure at the time of the conclusion of this agreement or could not reasonably have been expected to have avoided or overcome it or its consequences;
  11. You agree that while the Company has taken and will continue to take all reasonable care to ensure that information it publishes in relation to the discounts, privileges or treats as contracted by the Company with the CEL Card membership with any participating merchants is accurate, it will not be liable for any error or non-updated information as is or may hereafter from to time be published by the Company or its agents.
  12. You agreed upon signing this document that any of this information or materials provided may be used by CECSSB where necessary to operate the Programme in order to provide Merchants with services relating to the Programme, to communicate with Merchants, to status Merchants, to promote offers to Merchants, to fulfill Merchants' requests including redemption orders, and for identification purposes. From time to time, CECSSB may ask for additional information, to help improve its services to Merchants, to create more opportunities for Merchants to enjoy the Programme, to follow up with Merchants for feedback or to help prevent abuse of the Programme. Also, CECSSB may automatically collect other information about Merchants indirectly through its database such as customer profile and consumer behavior. Any customer information (including Merchants name and contact details) and consumer behavior but excluding information that relate to specific goods or services that a Merchant buys, may be used by CECSSB to analyze Merchants' activity on the Programme. CECSSB may also use that information in order to facilitate various services to the Merchants, to extend Merchant benefits and special offers, and for marketing purposes including planning, product development, telemarketing promotions, research and other carefully screened marketing programmes or activities, which CECSSB believe are likely to interest Merchants.
  13. This Agreement and any action relating to this Agreement will be interpreted and governed by the laws of Malaysia without regard to its conflicts of law principles.
  14. By signing on the CEL Card Membership program agreement issued to you by the Company, you agree that you have read and understand and agree to all the terms and conditions governing the CEL Card membership program herein contained and the respective terms and conditions of the respective CEL Benefits issued by the Company or the service providers.


MERCHANT - Terms and Conditions Governing the Use of CEL Card For Discounts, Privileges and Treats.

  1. You agree that as The Company is only the arranger for you to provide discounts, privileges or treats to the CEL Card participating members when your customers patronize them, it is not responsible and will not be liable for:

  1. Any unauthorized use of the CEL Card issued by you to obtain discounts, privileges or treats at any CEL Privilege participating merchants,
  2. Any refusal by any CEL participating merchant to honour the CEL points issued by you for discounts, privileges or treats for any reason, including the failure of the communication facilities located between the premises of the CEL participant merchant to the premises of the Company's computer systems, any damage or malfunction of the CEL Card issued by you;
  3. Any goods or services your customers could have purchased from any CEL participating merchant with or without the use of the CEL Card

General:

Membership Cards are not transferable and are the property of CECSSB. Points, and any rights they confer, cannot be sold, transferred, assigned or otherwise dealt with except in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Points have no cash or monetary value. CECSSB may, at its absolute discretion, allow the transfer of Points under certain exceptional circumstances.


CECSSB may change, at any time and without prior notice, these Terms and Conditions, the Gift offers and/or the Participating Merchants. CECSSB may make that change even if it has the effect of reducing or extinguishing the number or value of, or the period of expiry of, any existing or future Points. CECSSB will attempt to notify Members of any changes. CECSSB may also change, at any time and without prior notice, the qualifying goods and services and/or the number of Points, which Members will receive for purchasing such goods and services.


A notice shall be deemed to be given by CECSSB to a Member if it is posted to the address of the Member appearing in the CECSSB records or published in the media or on City Explorer's website at www.cityexplorercard.com.my


In the event where there is a discrepancy in communication to Members using the Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin languages, the English version will prevail.


CECSSB is not liable under the following circumstances:-

  1. Any delay in replacing a Membership Card or for any unauthorized use of Membership;
  2. Any failure of a Member to notify a Participating Merchant that a transaction is a CEL Card transaction;
  3. Any delay/failure of a Participating Merchant to notify CECSSB of the details of a transaction;
  4. Any unauthorized redemption of CEL Points;
  5. Any unauthorized use of Points or unauthorized sale of CEL Points;
  6. Any loss, theft or damage to any Gift in the course of delivery;
  7. Any Gift not being available for any reason;
  8. Any failure by the Supplier to meet the Terms and Conditions to supply the Gift;
  9. Any failure to notify Members of any changes in these Terms and Conditions, the Gift offered, Participating Merchants, qualifying goods and services and/or the number of Points which will be recorded for the purchase of qualifying goods and services;
  10. The suspension and/or termination of the Programme;
  11. Any technical failure of system, including City Explorer's Loyalty card website, customer service call center and mobile short-messaging-service system which may impede a Member's transaction.


CECSSB reserves the right to suspend or terminate the City Explorer Loyalty (CEL) Card Programme at any time without prior notice. CECSSB reserves the right to assign or sell the CEL programme terms without any further consent and may disclose or transfer all information held about Principal Members and Supplementary Members to a prospective or actual new owner. Such a disclosure or transfer may not alter the rights of the Principal Member and Supplementary Member in respect of the use that can be made of such information by such other company.


City Explorer Card Services Sdn Bhd is a company registered in Malaysia under company registration number 848431-H whose registered office is No. 16, Lorong Permata 4/1, Taman Permata, 70200 Seremban, N.S.D.K., Malaysia


Certificate/Voucher:

These terms describe in detail the terms and condition that applies to Gifts in the form of Certificates and Vouchers


  1. The certificate /voucher is only valid for use at participating merchants or Suppliers as mentioned on the certificate/voucher and only on specific matters mentioned therein. Please refer to the outlet listing for more specific terms.
  2. The certificate/voucher is only valid for use until the expiry date indicated on it and is not transferable.
  3. If the certificate/voucher remains unused after the expiry date, it will not be extended and replaced.
  4. Cancellation of certificate/voucher will not be accepted to allow reinstatement of Points.
  5. The certificate/ voucher is not refundable or exchangeable for cash.
  6. In the event that certificate/voucher is in the form of cash vouchers, the recipient will have to bear the difference if purchase of goods or services exceeds the certificate/voucher face value. If the purchase amount is less than the certificate/voucher value, the difference will not be paid out to the recipient.
  7. It is the recipient's responsibility to make their own reservation with the participating merchants or Suppliers when required.
  8. Please note that hotel reservations are subject to room availability. It is advisable that a credit card number must be provided to the hotel to help ensure that reservations are kept open for late check-ins.
  9. For hotel certificates/vouchers, the recipient is required to place a deposit upon check-in. Incidental charges, if any, will be borne by the recipient and will be deducted from the deposit. Remaining deposit is refundable.
  10. The recipient may be requested to present their new identification card/ Passport, original certificate/voucher and CEL card upon redemption at the selected participating merchants or Suppliers.
  11. Only original certificates/vouchers will be accepted. Participating merchants or Suppliers will not accept damaged, defaced or photocopied certificate/vouchers.
  12. The participating merchant or Supplier also reserves the right to decline the certificate/voucher if found to be forged, tampered, expired and the certificate/voucher details do not match the recipient's identification card/Passport.
  13. CECSSB or the participating merchants/Suppliers will not replace lost, stolen, damaged and expired certificate/vouchers.
  14. This certificate/voucher may not be valid during promotions or special offers. As such, the recipient is required to refer to the participating merchants/ Suppliers during the stipulated period of the certificate/voucher validity.
  15. Please be advised that the participating merchants or Suppliers own terms and conditions which includes reservation requirements, cancellation restrictions, warranties and limitations) will also apply.


By signing on the Member's Application Form, I agree and acknowledge that I have read the Terms & Conditions of the City Explorer Loyalty Card programme and I agree to be bound by this Agreement and all amendments, revisions and additions which CECSSB at its discretion may effect from time to time.
